I got an email addressed to me….really.. “me”

So in my on-going attempts to educate you the readers to the creative phishing attempts these days..I have found another good one…

I got an email…addressed to me…literally in the “to” line it said…ME

I am sure you can see the other “problems” with this email too…namely the Am Ex email address and the fact that “AmericanExpress” display name does not have a space in it…

the body of the email “seemed” innocent enough…talking about Membership Rewards vouchers…

But if you look closely at the “click here to register” link (and remember how you do that? put your mouse over the hyperlink first…to see what the URL is)

umm.yeah…that registration link has absolutely NOTHING to do with American Express…

So once again…what’s the moral of the story?

“Think before you click”
